Frequently Asked Questions

Is 7 days enough for Iceland?
Seven days is enough for the South Coast, Golden Circle, Reykjavík, and one of either Snæfellsnes, the Westfjords, or North Iceland. It is not enough to drive the full Ring Road comfortably. Seven days gives a first-time visitor the essential Iceland experience — glacier lagoon, black sand beaches, geothermal pools, and a realistic chance of Northern Lights in autumn.
How much does a 7-day Iceland trip cost?
Budget approximately ISK 250,000–350,000 (around £1,400–2,000 / $1,700–2,500) per person for a 7-day self-drive trip, including rental car, mid-range accommodation, food (mix of restaurants and supermarkets), and activities. Accommodation is the main variable — budget options exist (from ISK 6,000/night in hostels) but mid-range hotels run ISK 28,000–45,000/night.
